About Holos Psychological Services
Understanding our holistic approach to psychological healing and wholeness

Healing

Healing is not just about reducing symptoms - it's about restoring connection, meaning, and balance in one's life. True healing involves understanding the deeper roots of emotional pain, recognizing patterns, and fostering self-awareness and growth.

Integration

We believe in the interconnectedness of the body, mind, and spirit. Our evidence-based approaches recognize that psychological well-being cannot be separated from physical health, emotional awareness, and spiritual fulfillment.

Wholeness

Healing is not just about reducing symptoms - it's about restoring connection, meaning, and balance in one's life. True healing involves understanding the deeper roots of emotional pain, recognizing patterns, and fostering self-awareness and growth.

Thriving

At Holos Psychological Services, we support individuals and families to move from surviving to thriving, helping you reclaim your sense of agency, purpose, and inner peace. Our goal is not just symptom relief but lasting transformation.

Meet Your Therapists

Me_edited.jpg

Hello! I offer in-person therapy and formal assessments in downtown Calgary, and virtual services across Alberta and Nova Scotia to adults 18 and over. My clinical approach is grounded in evidence-based techniques, drawing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy. Previously, I worked as a pet professional for almost 30 years, and in aviation for 20 years. I take pride in working extensively with vet med professionals, aviation professionals, and adults who are late diagnosed with ADHD and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder. As an individual who was adopted as an infant, it is also my honour to journey with adult adoptees seeking to resolve family-of-origin issues or those seeking support in searching for or meeting a biological relative. As a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist, I am passionate about supporting you through grief and loss and end-of-life transitions as well. When I'm away from work, I enjoy competing in dog sports with my two Pembroke Welsh Corgis, Kevyn and Howard, scuba diving, or taking off to beautiful Victoria for a few days.

Kevyn is a five-year-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi who spent her early years in the conformation ring earning her Canadian Grand Championship. After completing her Canadian Grand Championship, she moved on to excel in agility, barn hunt, scent hurdle, sheep herding, sprinters, and so many other fun sports! Kevyn has earned her Canine Good Neighbour title as well and is a trained service dog for Brenda. Kevyn is a dual champion in Conformation and agility and has over 30 performance titles with the Canadian Kennel Club. When Kevyn's at the office, she's off-duty from service dog work and on-duty to be as present or absent as you wish. Kevyn lives with her son, Howard, Kaya the Bengal cat, and Jill the mini pig.

What Makes Us Different?

Maybe you've been to therapy before, and you felt it "didn't really work" for you. Maybe you had a hard time connecting with your therapist. Maybe it seemed like there was just never enough time to really get to the root of the issues. Or maybe, cost was a barrier. At Holos Psychological Services, we recognize that therapy is an investment. Not just financially, but an investment in time, vulnerability, and change. As such, we pride ourselves on ensuring you are treated and appreciated for the unique being you are!

1. We don't believe in the 50-minute hour! Many therapists have moved to the 50-minute hour, with the understanding that the additional ten minutes (and often more!) are still spent on you through case review, treatment planning, consulting with colleagues, etc. And all of that is true, but at Holos, we give you a solid 60 minutes in the chair.

2. We offer differing appointment durations to meet your needs. Appointments can be booked as 60- or 90-minute sessions based on your needs. 3. We provide formal assessments using evidence-based, gold standard tools to adults 18 years and over.

4. We are trained in several (but not too many!) treatment modalities to help get you to your goals and live your life fully. We don't use a "one-size-fits-all" approach. We will journey with you, moving you gently toward the growth you desire.

5. Affordable fees and direct billing. As a Registered Provisional Psychologist working under the supervision of a Registered Psychologist, I am pleased to offer a limited number of low-cost formal assessment apppointments to clients. No burdensome paperwork, no digging through tax returns or returning to your high-school calculus classes trying to determine your family's ongoing finances. Additionally, as a Registered Provisional Psychologist, I can direct bill Alberta Blue Cross, Medavie Blue Cross, and Greenshield. A receipt will be issued for all services.

6. We are an approved Parks Canada Prescriber which means we can provide you with access to all of Canada's National Parks at no cost. The research is clear on the physical, emotional, and spiritual benefits of being in nature and our goal is to support that.

7. Weather permitting, we are happy to take therapy outside the confines of the office and into nature. If you're interested in Walk and Talk sessions, reach out and ask for more information!
